Ce chapitre explore la construction en bǎ en chinois, un verbe 'prendre' grammaticalisé en marque d'objet avec la structure antéposée < bǎ + Objet > dans une langue SVO. L'objectif est d'illustrer l'iconicité de cette construction entre phase initiale et phase finale, mettant en lumière la 'transitivité haute' où le patient est maximalement intégré dans le monde référentiel. Les compléments d'objets compatibles avec cette construction sont étudiés en détail pour en déduire des traits caractéristiques, en soulignant la pertinence de la notion de 'disposal' proposée par Chao en 1968. En outre, le verbe gěi, signifiant 'donner', est analysé en comparaison avec bǎ pour en développer une hypothèse d'interaction, où gěi représente un 'faire arriver à (x) que P' et bǎ un 'prendre (x) pour l'affecter'. Ce travail démontre que l'usage du 'Marquage différentiel de l'objet' est influencé par des facteurs hétérogènes, s'avérant critiques pour la compréhension de cette construction linguistique.
