This document focuses on the design and safety considerations for a plant dedicated to the production of 50,000 metric tonnes of butadiene per year. The objective is to provide an integrated analysis of operational efficiency while ensuring safety measures are in place. To achieve this, a detailed examination of the plant layout, including a process flow diagram and a piping and instrumentation diagram, was conducted. The methodology involves a comprehensive review of operational parameters such as temperature, pressure, and mass flow rates of various components involved in the butadiene production process. Key results indicate specific mass and mole flow rates for essential compounds in the production cycle, emphasizing the importance of maintaining optimal operating conditions. These findings will contribute to the establishment of a safe operational framework for the butadiene production facility, ensuring compliance with industry standards and enhancing overall process reliability.
