EVALUATION DU BUDGET PREVISIONNEL DE FRAGMENTATION DU CREUSEMENT DE L’INCLINEE DE CONTOURNEMENT DE LA ZONE EFFRONDREE POUR LA REPRISE DE L’EXPLOITATION - CAS DE LA MINE SOUTERAINE DE KAKULA NORTH (KAMOA)

The excavation of the bypass incline or developed gallery to access the mineralized area by bypassing the collapsed zone, a portion of the deposit that has become difficult or impossible to exploit through existing routes. It allows connecting different sections or levels, aiming to ensure the continuity of operations in areas where geotechnical stability, ground conditions, or the progression of the site require a new access route. The purpose of our work was to estimate the provisional budget for the fragmentation of the bypass incline to recover the collapsed area, before assessing the budget for the mining operation. A technique was implemented to calculate the explosive charge per hole, the total quantity per pattern by referring to the parameters used in this mine, as well as certain geotechnical parameters of the rock. Starting from the determination of the number of blasts for the entire project, which is 84 blasts, we determined the drilled meterage, which is 310 m, and the total amount of explosives per pattern, which is 530.7 kg. This allowed us to know the firing devices needed for the entire project, and subsequently, we evaluated the cost of the drilling and blasting operation. The cost of the chamber blasting operation according to the determined terrain and the cost of the drilling operation: 390600 USD for 26,040 m drilled, ratio 15 USD/𝒎𝟑; cost of the blasting operation: 103,358.13 USD for a volume of 13,140 𝑚3, ratio 7.8 USD/𝑚3.
