The SiO2-ZrO2 composite application has been widely applied in the areas of catalysts, corrosion, batteries, membranes, solar cells, etc. One of the potential composite sources of SiO2-ZrO2 comes from the side results of zirconium oxychloride (ZOC) filtrate synthesis. This study aims to recover the SiO2-ZrO2 compounds from the remaining ZOC filtrate synthesis by leaching and calcining (W&C) methods. Leaching was conducted using hot water and sodium chloride concentration, determined through potentiometric titration, while calcination was executed at temperatures of 900 °C and 700 °C for varying durations. The results indicated that the optimal conditions for producing SiO2-ZrO2 composites were achieved at a calcination temperature of 900 °C for 7 hours, yielding a maximum SiO2 concentration of 78.12% and ZrO2 concentration of 19.49%, with mass recovery decreasing to 0.91. Characterization through X-ray diffraction (XRD) and Fourier Transform Infrared (FTIR) revealed specific peak patterns correlating with the compositional variations due to different calcination temperatures, while Transmission Electron Microscopy (TEM) images depicted mesoporous granules at both calcination temperatures. The quality differences were significant concerning SiO2 and ZrO2 concentration ratios.
