This editorial provides a comprehensive overview of jarosites, including their structure, formation, leaching properties, environmental implications, and potential applications. The objective is to synthesize existing literature on the significance and applications of jarosite-type compounds, which have been extensively studied due to their formation through the weathering of sulfide ores in acidic environments. The methodology includes a review of various studies documenting the mineralogy, stability, and reactivity of jarosites in diverse environmental conditions.
