Major casting processing advancements have been made in experimental and simulation areas. Newly developed advanced casting technologies allow foundry researchers to explore detailed phenomena associated with new casting process parameters, helping to produce defect-free castings with good quality. Moreover, increased computational power allows foundry technologists to simulate these advanced casting processes, thereby reducing casting defects. This book discusses various advanced casting processing technologies including ductile casting production and thermal analysis, the casting of metal matrix composites using vortex stir casting technique, aluminum DC casting, and the evaporative casting process. Organized into seven chapters across four sections, it covers the production of ductile iron casting, aluminum casting, manufacturing aspects of functionally graded materials, and vortex stir casting. Each chapter details the specific processing steps, parameters involved in the respective casting techniques, and their applications. The goal of the book is to provide comprehensive insights into the latest developments in casting technologies.
