Abstract

Language:

This work concerns the comparative study of the action of the KAX and FC 2015 collectors in the flotation of copper cobalt oxide ores from the R471 embankment. The objective of this study is to determine the optimal doses of KAX and FC 2015, in order to contribute to the recovery of copper and cobalt at the Kolwezi concentrator. To achieve this, two series of flotation tests were carried out where we had to vary the doses of KAX and FC 2015 for each series of tests. The results of these two series of flotation tests show that the best metallurgical performances are obtained in the first series of tests with KAX when varying the latter at a dose of 300g/t, with NaSH at 3000g/t, the Mixture at 100g/t, the silicate at 200g/t and G41 at 90g/t. The recovery yields are respectively 89.24%Cu and 74.36%Co with contents of 4.47%Cu and 0.56%Co.
