This laboratory manual presents a series of experiments aimed at understanding the properties of resistors and their connections in series and parallel circuits. The objective is to educate students about equivalent resistance, voltage, and current behavior in different circuit configurations. The methodology involves practical experiments where students connect resistors in various arrangements, measure voltages and currents, and compute the total resistance. By implementing a series circuit, students can observe how voltage divides among resistors while in a parallel setup, the voltage remains constant across each resistor, illustrating the differences in current distribution. Results from these experiments indicate that the total resistance in a series configuration is equal to the sum of individual resistances, while in a parallel configuration, the equivalent resistance is determined by the reciprocal of the sum of the reciprocals of individual resistances. The manual also includes practical problems that encourage critical thinking about real-world applications of these concepts. This experiential learning approach enhances theoretical understanding of electrical circuits, laying the groundwork for more advanced studies in electrical engineering.
