It focuses on the genealogical background of Edison, tracing his ancestry from early settlers in the Netherlands to various locations across North America. The objective is to understand Edison’s motivations behind his inventions, particularly in the realm of commercial devices. The methodology involves a review of historical documents, including materials from the Rutgers University 'Edison Papers Project,' Edison’s personal notes from his Battery Factory, and records from The Electrochemical Society.
