Antimony is not a desirable component in copper electro-refining streams although it is an element often found in normal plant practice. The present work presents data on the extraction of Sb (III) with LIX 1104SM in Escaid 103. The extraction system is studied in terms of extraction and stripping kinetics, temperature, antimony loading, stripping and selectivity of the system. On the basis of results obtained, a continuous run on Sb (III)–Cu (II)–H2SO4 synthetic solution has been performed.
