In recent years, contemporary projects, as well as companies that implement them, have faced increasingly complex challenges, both technical and socio-economic, leading to a marginalization of employee safety. This study aims to determine the factors influencing safety climate in different industrial sectors within project-based organizations, motivated by the lack of systematic research on occupational safety in Serbia. The research builds on previous findings that engagement at all company levels is critical to enhancing safety performance and that safety awareness significantly impacts workers' efficiency. Employing both linear and nonlinear statistical analysis methods, the authors examine workers' attitudes across various industries to identify key safety climate issues. Results indicate that specific factors defining the safety climate vary by sector, highlighting the need for tailored approaches to foster improved safety performance in project-based contexts. This research represents a pioneering effort to address safety climate in Serbia's project-oriented industries, offering insights that could enhance worker safety and overall project success.
