This research report investigates the application of fate and transport models in assessing the effectiveness of a chromium (VI) remediation pump and treat system. The primary objective was to evaluate the remediation efficiency and provide empirical data to support management decisions related to groundwater contamination. A comprehensive methodology was employed, involving the simulation of contaminant transport using established geochemically-based models, alongside field data collection and analysis. The results indicated varying degrees of effectiveness in chromium (VI) removal, with significant implications for the design and operation of remediation systems. The findings contribute vital information to the field of hydrogeology and underscore the importance of model-based evaluations in contaminated site management. Future recommendations include optimizing pump and treat parameters to enhance efficiency further.
