Abstract

Language:

Compiling studies have a great importance in spreading and adopting the folk songs sung in a region. Until today, thousands of folk songs were compiled by visiting the region via official foundations and the citizens all around the country have had the chance to listen to these folk songs via chorus, radio and television broadcasts. In Turkey, Ankara State Conservatory, The Ministry of Culture and Tourism, TRT (Turkish Radio and Television Corporation) conducted these compiling studies in a certain program schedule and put these folk songs into their archives. Ordu region has a rich repertoire in terms of folk music culture. Geographic location and spreading have a significant effect on this situation. It is remarkable that the Georgian lament and folk dance which collected from source names and the recording of the music of Georgian citizens in the region shows the particularities of different cultures in the studies. Another notable aspect during this review is that the Alevi culture in the region is included. The shortcoming of women among the source names is highlighted, pointing to an important gap in compilation studies. The results underscore the need for further attention to women's contributions in the folk culture of the Black Sea Region.
