This document explores the intricacies of liquid-liquid extraction processes, emphasizing the distinction between cases with and without chemical reactions. The main objective is to analyze the mass transfer mechanisms involved in these processes, highlighting the role of mass transfer coefficients as determined through various theoretical frameworks, such as the double film theory. To systematically approach this topic, a comprehensive literature review of mathematical models related to extraction processes is conducted, alongside experimental data that support the correlations between physical properties and extraction equipment dimensions.
