This study investigates the extraction kinetics of crude montan wax from low-rank coal using a 50:50 vol.% mixture of benzene and methanol. The objective was to determine the extraction yield and its kinetic modeling. The methodology involved leaching the wax and measuring the yield over time, culminating in a total extraction time of 143 minutes. The results showed an extraction yield of 35.5% based on available wax and 2.25% concerning the amount of extracted coal. The extraction kinetics were effectively modeled using a two-step consecutive kinetics approach, while the extraction column exhibited characteristics akin to an ideal plug-flow chemical reactor. This work contributes valuable insights into the dynamics of montan wax extraction, emphasizing the importance of solvent properties and extraction conditions in optimizing yield efficiency.
