Secondary aluminum dross is a byproduct of the electrolytic aluminum industry, composed mainly of Al2O3, AlN, and Na3AlF6, and is considered a type of hazardous waste due to its significant annual yield. This research focuses on the effective treatment and resource utilization of secondary aluminum dross, which offers substantial economic and social benefits. The study investigates the preparation of premelted calcium aluminate slag intended for molten steel refining. Initially, the chemical composition and phase components of the secondary aluminum dross are systematically analyzed. Subsequently, through phase diagram analysis and melting point measurements, optimal mixing ratios of CaO and secondary aluminum dross, along with suitable calcination temperatures, are established. This foundational work supports the advancement of environmentally sustainable methods for the management and recycling of secondary aluminum dross, paving the way for reduced waste and enhanced resource recovery in the metallurgical industry.
