The production of butadiene is a critical process in the chemical industry, contributing significantly to various applications. This project aims to design a system capable of producing 50,000 metric tonnes of butadiene annually. The objective is to analyze the reactor design and optimize process parameters for efficient production. A detailed methodology was employed, which included the creation of process flow diagrams, piping and instrumentation diagrams, and stream tables for the proposed production facility. Key parameters such as flow rates, temperatures, and pressures were evaluated to determine the feasibility of the production plan. The analysis revealed critical insights into the operational requirements and efficiency of the reactor, highlighting potential areas for optimization. The results indicate that the designed system can meet the production goals while maintaining safety and economic viability, providing a solid foundation for further development in butadiene production technology. This project demonstrates the importance of comprehensive design processes in chemical engineering, specifically in the pursuit of optimizing production methods to fulfill market demands.
