Solar energy is a key renewable resource for achieving net zero carbon emissions, and Indonesia’s high solar irradiation presents significant potential for photovoltaic (PV) deployment. This study experimentally investigates the effect of water cooling on the performance of a 300 Wp (2 × 150 Wp) polycrystalline solar panel array under varying solar irradiation levels. Panel performance is evaluated in terms of output current, voltage, power, and conversion efficiency, with measurements taken over five days from 9:00 to 15:00. While water cooling successfully reduces panel temperature, it is found to have a negative impact on electrical performance under the tested conditions. The highest output power and conversion efficiency occur at the highest solar irradiation when the panels operate without cooling. The maximum power and conversion efficiency obtained are 254.96 W and 84.99%, respectively, indicating that in this operating temperature range, cooling does not provide performance benefits.
