Abstract

Language:

The political landscape in Burkina Faso underwent significant changes following a coup that disrupted the transitional government in September 2015. This presentation aims to explore the subsequent challenges and opportunities that emerged within the mining sector as the new government assumed power. Utilizing a comprehensive analysis of the socio-economic environment and the implications for the mining industry, the examination draws on various data sources and expert insights to illuminate the dynamics at play. Key findings indicate that while the coup created instability, it also opened avenues for potential restructuring and investment in the mining sector, fueled by international interests. Moreover, the presentation highlights the need for effective government policies to stabilize the industry and attract foreign investment. In conclusion, despite the immediate turmoil, there exists a pathway for growth in Burkina Faso's mining sector under the new government's governance.
