Abstract

Language:

This thesis investigates power factor correction techniques applicable to both single-phase and three-phase systems through scalar control methods. The objective is to enhance the efficiency of power electronic converters by minimizing harmonic distortions and improving power quality. A comprehensive methodology is developed, incorporating both theoretical analyses and practical implementations to compare the effectiveness of various correction techniques. Numerous experimental setups are employed, facilitating the assessment of performance across different operational scenarios. Results indicate significant improvements in power factor and overall system reliability through the proposed approaches. The findings not only contribute valuable insights into the field of power electronics but also serve as a foundation for future research endeavors aimed at further optimizing power conversion systems.
