Abstract

Language:

This study investigates the recovery of manganese from steel plant slag using a carbamate leaching technique. The objective is to identify an efficient method for extracting valuable manganese resources from slag, which is often considered a waste material in steel production. The methodology includes a detailed experimental procedure involving sample preparation, pretreatment of samples, and the leaching process itself. Chemical analyses were conducted to evaluate the effectiveness of the carbamate leaching in extracting manganese. Results indicate that carbamate leaching is an effective method for recovering manganese from steel plant slag, with significant levels of manganese successfully extracted, showcasing the potential for recycling valuable materials from industrial by-products. This approach not only presents a means to recover manganese but also contributes to waste reduction in metallurgical processes. The implications of this work highlight the importance of sustainable practices in metallurgy and resource recovery, encouraging further research and application of such techniques in the steel industry.
