Uranium mining through in-situ leaching (ISL) presents a unique approach that combines both efficiency and environmental considerations. This study aims to delineate the technical and economic aspects associated with ISL for uranium recovery. A comprehensive methodology was adopted encompassing field studies and the analysis of existing literature on uranium deposits and ISL processes. The research highlights key factors influencing uranium extraction, including geological, hydrological, and operational parameters. Results demonstrate that ISL not only reduces the environmental footprint compared to traditional mining methods but also enhances recovery rates. The study found that specific conditions, such as ore grade and hydraulic conductivity, significantly affect the success of the ISL process. Furthermore, economic analyses reveal that ISL is a viable option in regions with favorable geological settings, offering a cost-effective method for uranium production while ensuring minimal disruption to the ecosystem. This paper underscores the importance of adopting innovative mining techniques like ISL to meet the growing energy demands sustainably.
