Globalization has transformed the world into a borderless environment, enabling nations to engage with one another in unprecedented ways. This study examines the concept of soft power and its impact on international relations, specifically focusing on the perception of Japan in Indonesia through the JENESYS program. Methodologically, the research involves analyzing Japan's image in Indonesia over several years, highlighting how soft power currencies influence this perception. The findings reveal a significant correlation between Japan's soft power initiatives and the changes in its public image in Indonesia. Soft power mechanisms utilized by Japan, through cultural exchange and bilateral interactions, have effectively enhanced its appeal in the Indonesian context. By examining these dynamics, the research sheds light on the broader implications of soft power in shaping international relations and highlights the importance of image management for nations operating in a globalized world. The study concludes with recommendations for future research in the realm of soft power and international diplomacy.
