Abstract

Language:

This study investigates the influence of electrode material and solution pH on the efficiency of electrochemical nitrate removal. The objective is to understand how these parameters affect both the reaction rate and product distribution during the electrochemical processes. Employing a combination of experimental and analytical techniques, various electrode materials were tested under different pH conditions to evaluate their impact on nitrate reduction. The results reveal that both electrode type and pH significantly influence the electrochemical performance, with specific electrode materials exhibiting superior removal rates and selectivity towards desired products at optimal pH levels. In particular, it was found that the choice of electrode can alter the reaction pathways and product formation, highlighting the importance of material selection in designing effective nitrate removal systems. This research provides insights into optimizing electrochemical processes for environmental applications, particularly for the amelioration of nitrate pollution in water sources.
