Power factor is most important for all industrial as well as domestic sectors. In this research paper, we present a comparative study and analyze the power factor variation due to loading effect. For this comparison, we took different values of inductance, three different ranges of capacitors, and two ranges of resistance, and their total impedance was calculated. The calculated theoretical and practical values of power factor were based on different combination loads. Pure sinusoidal sine waves were displayed on a computer through a sound card, and the load phase angle between the fundamental components of the load voltage and current was calculated. Results show the dependency of power factor on the load characteristics, emphasizing the need for improved power factor management in both industrial and domestic applications.
