Pornography has significantly impacted the morals of Indonesian society, particularly among the youth. This study aims to scrutinize the legal framework established by Law Number 44 of 2008 on pornography and its effectiveness in addressing related crimes. Utilizing a descriptive-analytical methodology, the research evaluates the current law's provisions and identifies gaps that hinder effective enforcement and accountability. The findings reveal that while the law attempts to combat pornography, it exhibits significant weaknesses concerning the criminal liability system, particularly in its definitions and overlap with various activities related to reproduction and distribution of pornographic materials. The vague interpretation of terms such as 'download' under Article 5 further complicates the application of the law, leading to challenges in prosecuting offenders under Articles 8, 9, and 11 of the pornography legislation. This analysis suggests urgent reforms to clarify definitions and enhance alignment with contemporary issues, urging collaboration between the government and society to foster a safe and moral environment for future generations.
