Climate change poses significant risks to urban environments, impacting infrastructure, ecosystems, and public health. This study aims to assess the effects of climate change on the resilience of urban areas, focusing on adaptive strategies that can mitigate these impacts. Utilizing a mixed-methods approach, we conducted qualitative interviews with city planners and quantitative analyses of climate data across various metropolitan regions. Our results indicate that urban areas with proactive climate adaptation plans present greater resilience to climate-induced disruptions, such as flooding and heatwaves. Furthermore, the integration of green spaces and sustainable infrastructure significantly enhances urban resilience. This research highlights the importance of strategic planning in urban design to effectively manage the risks associated with climate change, emphasizing a multifaceted approach that includes community engagement and policy reform. Effective implementation of these strategies can lead to more sustainable urban environments capable of withstanding the challenges posed by a changing climate.
