Abstract

Language:

UV irradiation as a method of disinfecting drinking, waste and feed waters is becoming increasingly widespread. This study aims to explore the effectiveness of a newly developed microwave stimulated electrodeless lamp in the disinfection of drinking water, alongside research into direct electrolysis for disinfection purposes. Experiments demonstrated the successful application of this new lamp on microorganisms of risk group one, highlighting its potential in practical scenarios. In addition, the direct electrolysis method was evaluated in conjunction with the UV treatment, presenting a synergistic approach that promises to enhance the disinfection treatment of drinking water. The findings indicate that the combination of these two innovative methods may significantly improve the safety and quality of drinking water, addressing a critical need for reliable disinfection alternatives. This study contributes valuable insights into modern water treatment technologies and their implementation, ultimately aiding in the global challenge of providing safe drinking water.
