Higher education institutions are increasingly integrating AI into academic advising to enhance student experiences and institutional efficiency, including in GCC universities. This paper examines how leading GCC institutions are beginning to implement AI-driven advising tools, assessing their benefits, limitations, and implications for students, tutors, and universities. It discusses how AI can address common advising inefficiencies such as incorrect course selection, miscalculated GPAs, and manual errors that contribute to students becoming at risk. The study also situates these developments within broader ethical, operational, and pedagogical considerations to guide responsible AI adoption in GCC higher education.
