Abstract

Language:

PID controller or Proportional-integral-derivative controller is a control loop feedback mechanism widely used in industrial control systems for various parameters like flow, pressure, level, and temperature. This experiment aimed to perform open and closed loop tests to determine the optimum conditions for process control. The methodology involved utilizing DCS FOXBORO and DCS DELTA-V EMERSON systems to conduct tests on liquid flow and pressure control loops. Results indicated that both systems exhibited slightly nonlinear processes against manipulated variables in liquid flow control, while the EMERSON system demonstrated a highly nonlinear process response for pressure control. These findings underscore the importance of understanding PID controller dynamics in optimizing industrial processes.
