This study investigates the relationship between the particle structure of electrolytic copper powder and its apparent density. The objective was to ascertain how variations in particle characteristics influence apparent density in different copper powders produced through electrolysis. Methodologically, quantitative microstructural analysis, sieve analysis, and scanning electron microscopy were employed to analyze the structure and properties of the copper powder particles. Results indicate that the structure of the copper powder particles significantly dictates their apparent density. Specifically, it was observed that particles from the same fraction of differing powders occupy similar volumes, yet their structural differences lead to notable variations in apparent density. More dendritic particle structures correspond to lower apparent densities. These findings contribute to the understanding of powder metallurgy and its applications by emphasizing the importance of particle structure in determining physical properties of metal powders.
