Abstract

Language:

This document presents a comprehensive syllabus for Basic Electrical Engineering (BEE) at the Gokaraju Rangaraju Institute of Engineering and Technology. The objective of this course is to provide foundational knowledge in electrical engineering concepts necessary for first-year engineering students. The methodology incorporates a structured approach to covering essential topics such as Ohm's Law, Kirchhoff's Laws, series and parallel circuits, phasor representation, and transformer applications. The curriculum outlines a progression through theoretical concepts and practical applications, addressing both independent and dependent sources, circuit analysis techniques, and the principles governing electrical components. Key results include a thorough understanding of circuit behavior, real and reactive power, resonance, and application of theorems such as Thevenin’s and Norton’s. This structured educational approach aims to equip students with the requisite skills for advanced studies in electrical engineering, ensuring they possess a solid grasp of both theoretical foundations and practical applications in electrical systems.
