Abstract

Language:

The HEICAL learning model was implemented in an industrial electrochemistry engineering course to enhance educational outcomes. The objective was to evaluate the effectiveness of this instructional model in integrating theoretical knowledge with practical applications in the engineering domain. A mixed-methods approach was utilized, involving both qualitative and quantitative data collection through student surveys, performance assessments, and observational studies throughout the course duration. Results indicated significant improvements in student engagement, understanding of core concepts, and practical skills. The HEICAL model facilitated a more interactive and dynamic learning environment, promoting collaboration and critical thinking among students. Feedback from participants revealed a positive shift in their attitudes towards the subject matter and a perceived increase in their abilities to tackle real-world engineering problems. This study contributes to the ongoing discourse on innovative educational methodologies in engineering, suggesting that structured models such as HEICAL can effectively bridge the gap between theory and practice in specialized fields like electrochemistry.
