This study aims to minimize ore transportation cost in surface mining by numerical modelling. Minimization of ore transportation cost is crucial in scenarios with multiple locations of ore deposits, such as the phosphate ore of Aljalamid in Saudi Arabia, where ore is found in three locations. The proposed numerical model seeks to identify the optimal position of a processing plant, taking into account variables such as the number of primary locations, reserves at each site, transportation costs, and distances from each deposit to the processing plant. To address the mathematical model, computer programming was employed. The key findings include the determination of the processing plant's location and the creation of a contour map indicating additional costs in the vicinity of the optimal site. The proposed model demonstrates significant utility in similar mining contexts, offering insights to effectively minimize transportation costs associated with ore processing.
