Abstract

Language:

A diode serves a crucial function as a rectifier, which converts alternating current (AC) into direct current (DC). In electronics, diodes can be used in half-wave and full-wave rectifier circuits. The presence of diodes as active electronic components has brought many benefits to human life, making it important to understand the influence of capacitor values on diode performance. The purpose of this study is to analyze the output signal in a half-wave rectifier circuit and to determine the effect of capacitor values on the output signal in a full-wave rectifier circuit. The research methodology employed literature review and online experimentation using the Circuit Lab simulator to test hypotheses. The research findings indicate that the output signal in a half-wave rectifier circuit does not have a peak, while in a full-wave rectifier circuit, the capacitor value has an effect on the output signal.
