Field studies were conducted during 2022–23 at Alluru Village and 2023–24 at Yalluru Village to evaluate the efficacy of Chlorantraniliprole 18.5% SC, alone and in combination with KNO3, against Helicoverpa armigera using drone-based spraying at different recommended dose percentages (100%, 75%, and 50%) compared with farmers’ practice (tractor-drawn knapsack/battery sprayer). The results indicated that drone spraying of Chlorantraniliprole was effective in managing pod borer populations across varying dose percentages, showing improved pest control compared to traditional methods. Additionally, the study discussed the implications of using drone technology for agricultural practices, focusing on the advantages of targeted pesticide application and reduced chemical usage. Data collected emphasized the potential benefits of adopting innovative sprayer technology in pest management regimes within pulse cultivation. This research contributes to the understanding of sustainable practices in agriculture, particularly under the context of climate change, by highlighting advancements in pest management techniques. The findings suggest that integrating drone technology in agricultural practices could enhance production efficiency and reduce the adverse environmental impacts associated with conventional spraying methods.
