Abstract

Language:

Leaching tests of imported chalcopyrite were performed using a pilot-scale (50 L) pressure oxidation autoclave. The effects of oxygen pressure, temperature, leaching time, and particle size on the leaching efficiencies of copper and iron were investigated by measuring the metal concentrations in the leaching solution and by investigating the leached residue by X-ray diffractometry (XRD). The concentration of copper increased and the concentration of iron decreased with increasing oxygen pressure, temperature, and leaching time and with decreasing particle size. The XRD results indicated that iron existed as hematite in the leached residue.
