Abstract

Language:

This comment discusses a recent study on the effects of flow profiles on low frequency drift-type waves in dusty plasma, pointing out that the findings presented in the referenced work are erroneous due to the inappropriate inclusion of shear flow effects. The authors highlight that similar work has been conducted in past literature, establishing a theoretical framework for understanding nonlocal dust drift waves in the presence of nonuniform flow. The study emphasizes that the authors of the original paper are not sufficiently informed about prior research on this topic, which has implications for the stability and instability effects induced by magnetic shear in plasma. The comment further clarifies that the presence of dust does not significantly alter the stability criteria presented in the original study. This commentary aims to correct misconceptions related to the influence of dust in sheared magnetic fields and to underscore the importance of recognizing existing literature in the field of plasma physics.
