This study explores the feasibility of a proposed embedded 5MW AC solar power plant by the Pampanga I Electric Cooperative, Inc. (PELCO 1), aimed at addressing the growing power demand in its franchise area while minimizing reliance on fossil fuels. The context of the research highlights increasing electricity needs and the imperative to reduce carbon emissions through renewable energy solutions. The objective was to assess the viability of solar power technology for local implementation. A pre-feasibility study was conducted, which involved analyzing current energy consumption, potential demand, and the financial performance of the cooperative. Results indicated that the proposed solar power plant could effectively meet additional power demands while reducing costs for member-consumers. Furthermore, it aligns with national energy policies aimed at bolstering sustainable energy sources and improving the performance of distribution utilities. The project represents a strategic move to comply with the Philippine Distribution Code and support government initiatives to lessen dependency on conventional energy sources. In conclusion, the embedded solar power plant emerges as a promising solution for energy sustainability within the region.
