Abstract

Language:

The production of high-quality nickel cathode sediments significantly depends on the selection of appropriate electrolytes with special additives and soluble anodes. This study investigates the effectiveness of modern sulphate-chloride electrolytes based on methanesulfonic acid and nickel acetate, coupled with a boric acid buffer and micro-alloyed sulfur-soluble nickel anodes, for generating qualitative nickel cathode sediments. Experimental results indicate that the combination of these electrolytes contributes to the high quality of the galvanic coatings produced while simultaneously reducing specific energy consumption by 25-30%. A comparative analysis rooted in existing literature and practical research outlines the advantages of utilizing these next-generation electrolytes in refining cathodic sediments micro-alloyed with sulfur, presenting a significant advancement in electroplating technology.
