Gold is a chemical element with the symbol Au and an atomic number of 79, characterized by its dense, soft, shiny, malleable, and ductile nature. The objective of this document is to provide a comprehensive overview of gold's physical and chemical properties, along with its occurrence in various forms. Utilizing a detailed descriptive methodology, the document outlines gold's appearance, general properties including electron configuration and density, as well as its physical properties such as melting and boiling points. The results reveal that gold maintains a bright yellow color and luster, resistant to oxidation in air or water. It is classified as one of the least reactive solid chemical elements, primarily found in its native form as nuggets or grains, and less frequently in mineral compounds with tellurium. This documentation affirms that gold's unique characteristics make it a significant element in both chemistry and various applications, highlighting its enduring value and interest in scientific research.
