The achievement of manufacturing engineering projects (MEP) in the German railway industry is examined in this study in relation to sustainable practices (SP). A quantitative design was used to determine how the main project performance metrics—cost, time, standards, and operational efficiency—were affected by economic, environmental, and social sustainability measures. A structured questionnaire was sent to project managers, engineers, and sustainability officials; 400 responses were received and analysed in SPSS. To test the proposed hypotheses, the rank correlation test and the Kruskal-Wallis test were used. Environmental sustainability was found to have the strongest association with project performance, and a positive, statistically significant relationship was observed between sustainability integration and overall project success. The findings also support the view that greater emphasis on sustainability enhances the efficiency of long-term operations. The study concludes that integrating sustainability into railway manufacturing projects improves performance, stakeholder outcomes, and strategic value, providing a viable contribution to sustainable project management in highly controlled infrastructure industries.
