In recent decades, there are considerable progressions research in modelling, simulation and control strategies. The advanced technologies in combined cycle power plants offer more effectiveness and lower environmental effect compared to conventional systems. This study focuses on the improvement of the governing control system by using a fuzzy logic controller in a combined cycle gas turbine (CCGT) plant. A model of the CCGT plant was created and simulated on MATLAB/Simulink, where the performance of the fuzzy logic controller was evaluated against a conventional PID controller tuned by the Ziegler-Nichols method. The simulation results demonstrate that the fuzzy logic controller provides better handling of the control system dynamics, improving system performance during varying power demands. The findings indicate the potential of fuzzy logic control techniques to enhance the operational efficiency of CCGT plants. The implications of this research are significant for future advancements in power generation control systems, emphasizing the need for innovative approaches to meet the challenges posed by fluctuating energy demands.
