Abstract

Language:

Today, the world is facing significant challenges related to energy crisis and thermal energy management, particularly regarding environmental pollution. In internal combustion engines, a considerable amount of energy from the fuel, approximately 30-40%, is transformed into useful work, while the remainder is expelled as exhaust gases. This study explores the utilization of waste heat recovery systems powered by thermoelectric principles, which convert waste heat into useful work via the Seebeck effect, thus generating a potential difference. The research highlights various methods to recover waste heat energy from automotive engine exhaust and techniques aimed at maximizing energy efficiency. Given the direct correlation between energy consumption, economic development, and global population growth, the increasing demand for energy suggests that novel solutions such as thermoelectric generators are timely and necessary for improving energy sustainability. By harnessing lost thermal energy through innovative technologies, the overall fuel economy in automobiles can be enhanced significantly, addressing both energy efficiency and environmental concerns.
