Abstract

Language:

Flotation is a significant and widely used processing technique, effectively separating valuable and gangue minerals. The objective of this editorial is to address the challenges of monitoring and controlling the flotation process to ensure optimal conditions for effective mineral separation. The methodology includes evaluating numerous linear and nonlinear relationships between operating parameters, chemical reagents, and minerals using experimental and numerical methods, alongside various intelligent computing techniques such as machine learning and artificial neural networks. Results indicate that predictive models provide effective and economically viable solutions that facilitate the optimization of flotation processes while reducing operational costs. This editorial aims to highlight advancements in the design, modeling, optimization, and control techniques applied in flotation processes and underscores the importance of ongoing research in this domain.
