Increased harmonic content and low power factor in power systems caused by power converters have raised significant concerns. The objective of this study is to identify a low-cost, compact, efficient, and reliable AC to DC power electronic converter that meets the performance specifications for uninterrupted power supply. A comparative analysis of three converter types, namely the AC-DC Cuk rectifier, Flyback converter, and Interleaved SEPIC converter, has been conducted, focusing on both bridged and bridgeless topologies. The paper illustrates the operational principles of the converters with relevant waveforms and presents simulation results to evaluate their performance. The comparison between the three converters is executed based on crucial parameters such as Displacement Factor, Supply Power Factor, and Total Harmonic Distortion (THD). The findings indicate that the proposed converters can effectively achieve improvements in power factor and reduction in harmonic distortion, thus contributing to enhanced power quality in electrical systems. The results underscore the effectiveness of the different converter topologies in achieving the desired power quality metrics.
