Evidence suggests that mining projects include risk and this kind of business is complex and includes unpredictable costs. This study investigates economic evaluation under uncertainty for both prices and operating costs in mining projects. Two scenarios are considered: one with certainty of prices and costs, and another with uncertainty. The objective is to analyze the decision-making process in these different situations using a binomial tree model, implemented through DiverGen software for analysis, and Excel for calculating present values. Results indicate that incorporating uncertainty in price and operating cost evaluations provides a greater net present value, suggesting that the use of binomial trees is more effective for decision-making under uncertainty. This study highlights the importance of considering economic uncertainties in mining project evaluations to enhance decision quality.
