This master's thesis investigates the dry or waterless processing of minerals from mine to mill, focusing on optimizing mineral separation techniques. The objective is to explore various dry processing methodologies to enhance efficiency and reduce environmental impact. The methodology includes a comprehensive analysis of mineralogy, the effects of different dry comminution methods, and the application of various separation techniques, such as dry magnetic and gravity separation. The results indicate significant improvements in processing efficiency and resource recovery by implementing optimized separation strategies. Furthermore, the study discusses the limitations and cost implications associated with the adoption of these processes. It concludes that the integration of dry processing methods could lead to sustainable practices in the mining industry, thereby minimizing the environmental footprint while maximizing resource utilization.
