This review highlights the role of nanotechnology in improving the performance and safety of sports equipment, with particular emphasis on recent advances and emerging trends. It provides a comprehensive overview of the historical development and significance of nanotechnology in sports engineering. It critically examines recent developments in nanotechnology for enhancing the performance, durability, and safety of sports equipment. The review discusses recent applications of nanomaterials in sports equipment and summarizes their effects on key performance characteristics. Specifically, the incorporation of carbon nanotubes into composite materials significantly enhances tensile strength. Nanocoatings applied to sports equipment surfaces reduce friction, thereby improving speed, agility, and overall athletic performance.
