This study investigates the production of strontium carbonate (SrCO3) and ammonium sulfate ((NH4)2SO4) through a dry mechanochemical process utilizing celestite (SrSO4) as the primary raw material. The objective is to explore an efficient production method that harnesses the unique properties of celestite to yield two commercially valuable products. By applying mechanochemical techniques, the reaction between celestite and ammonium carbonate is facilitated, leading to the formation of solid SrCO3 and soluble (NH4)2SO4. The process effectiveness is analyzed in terms of product yield and reaction kinetics. Results indicate that the mechanochemical method not only produces SrCO3 with high purity but also generates ammonium sulfate, which is critical for agricultural applications. This dual production approach enhances the sustainability of strontium compound manufacturing, providing an environmentally friendly alternative to traditional methods. The study concludes that mechanochemical processing represents a promising route for the efficient synthesis of strontium carbonate and ammonium sulfate, supporting both industrial and agricultural sectors.
